Editorial policy
Clear Regional News aims to make regional geography understandable without making claims broader than the evidence or the subject allows.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, definitions and geographical claims against suitable material before publication. Articles should distinguish observation, interpretation and established fact, and make uncertainty clear where it matters. We use plain language and explain specialist terms rather than relying on them.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for relevance to the publication's subject and readers. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. Contributors and editors should disclose relevant interests when they could affect how a subject is presented.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error or unclear description, they can send the article detail and supporting information through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend published material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial work. A partnership does not determine editorial conclusions. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary evidence.
A region makes sense in relation
A line on a map rarely tells the whole story. We look at the land, names and routes around it to see what connects places and where the boundaries matter.
